Placebo or Real?

A new study shows when your going to the doctors you might be getting prescribed with placebo's. When patients complain about being tired and cant sleep at night; some doctors tell them just to take a multivitamin or Advil. Doctors aren't sure about multivitamin's making you not tired and there is no study that says it does. Placebo's are consider as vitamins, antibiotics,Sedatives and over the counter pain killers. Doctors don't like to give out medications that haven't been proven to work yet. So they suggest vitamins, antibiotics, sedatives and over the counter pain killers because they are harmless. Doctors also know that the placebo's haven't been proven to work in any case studies but know that they are harmful. Doctors say they work because patients start to feel better just because they are so confident that it is something that works. The doctors call the treatment the placebo effect.

The common placebo that doctors hand out is aspirin. The scientific name is called over-the-counter analgesics. Antibiotics are bad to take unless you actually have a bacteria infection. Usually they are prescribed because of patients asking for it. Sedatives are a very addictive placebo and You should only take this if you have anxiety disorder. The vitamins are not bad at all to have because it has a lot of healthy things in them. For example vitamin B12 prevents medical conditions such as anemia. Next time you go to the doctor and expect prescribed medicine you probably are taking a placebo!
